The Art of the Hammam
Steam, soap, kessa, clay. Four elements, one sequence, practised across the Mediterranean.
The hammam is a bathing culture, not a treatment. In Morocco it is a room of stone and water where the body is cleansed in stages, and where the time given to it is part of the point.
Its sequence is consistent: heat first, then black soap on warm skin, then exfoliation with the kessa, then clay, then oil. Each step depends on the one before it.
What BÉLDI takes from the hammam is not an aesthetic. It is a method, and a pace.
